Heres a reminder of the entries...

feeling angry every day
wanting it to go away
the years i felt it
must go away

feel it pushing me inside
trying to knock me about
i hate the feeling i have inside
wanting it go away

A Different Kind of Anger

I know sometimes it seems to stem from almost anywhere
I can taste it with my tongue when it is in the air
I've seen that boy get quiet, bite his lip and fill with rage
Ain't it funny? - 'Cause I've seen his Father do the exact same thing

I've felt it in myself when a switch gets flipped
I've seen it happen in a woman when she gets ticked
I've felt the aftermath when I feel like shit
I wonder how I lost my cool and why I couldn't control it

And in the end it seems the one I hurt the most is myself
'cause I swear to god I've never hit someone else
With my fist clenched tight and all the anger inside
But at the moment, in my fist is where it all resides

Now my eyes grow large and my face beats red
Blame it on the chemical reactions that go off in my head
'Cause there's a buzzin' through my body and I feel like "He-Man"
But I'm older now -- it's time I find another plan

A lot of times though, it wasn't the physical pain
It was often the words used and the anguish it would bring
But I tend to realize now, that that was him at his worse
And everything's okay -- we moved away from that curse

A different kind of anger that my body had bought
A different kind of anger that my family was taught
A different kind of anger I think has always been there
Running through the family tree of an Irish man

Walking through life with uncertainty
The wherefore and the why?
searching for an absolution
Why did you have to die?

The numbing pain that fills my chest
Anger seething with unrest
feeling deprived of your smile
wondering why?... wondering how?

How could this happen?
why you, not me?
You were so loved by this family

I would gladly have taken your place
then to see the look on your mothers face
the anger she feels is depicted there
and to her it seems that nobody cares
nobody cares that you were just a child
nobody cares that she's lost all now..
nobody to hear her when she screams outloud
why oh why did you take my child???

Seeing her crumble with the slightest provocation
angry that I can't help in the desperate situation
knowing that she'll grieve and grieve
for the death card you were dealt...
Angry that you'll never know
the sorrow we've all felt

“This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life.”
