The Goddess of Darkness & Desire

"Whatever has been, it is what will be. And whatever has been done, it is what will be done. There is nothing new under the sun! Sometimes a person will say: 'Look, this is new.' But really it has previously existed." (King Solomon, Ecclesiastes 1:9-10)

BRAINSTORMING QUESTIONS TO PONDER:

Question 1: Look at your five most cherished possessions. Do they produce the same level of excitement now as when they were new?

Question 2: It is possible to have your car working like "new again" - if you are willing to pay the mechanic's price. If you could, what three things in your life would you like to inject that feeling of newness back into?

Question 3: Think about what method you are currently using to inject "newness" into your mundane activities. Is your technique genuinely effective, or is it merely "masking" a greater underlying need?

I do not usually cherish possessions. I have things that are purched or obtained to fulfill a purpose. That being said, my most dear and precious item is the ring I wear on my left ring finger, symbolizing the union between myself & my wife.
That, and the dragon that my daughter created for me.

My marriage, I would like to recapture the freshness of our first years, but time and duties always seem to intrude.
My sense of wonder at the incredible beauty of the world & universe around us.
My sense of humour. I seem to have lost it somewhere.

Currently, I am making my self look at the world and the people around me in a new way.
I am no longer allowing myself to feel down or "oppressed" by the incidents that occur in daily life.
I am striving to create warmth & happiness in my life, and those around me.
Where ever you go, there YOU are.

Humans are like cut gems: They have many facets. And their many faces are rarely completely known by all.

When I look at all I have and really think about it the things I most treasure are not things that I own but the people I have in my world. The most important things in my life can never be possessed only freely given by others, their time, their love and their presence.

I wish I could get my house sorted out and to finish with all the debts that Andy left me with... I can't move on with my life as they are like a millstone round my neck and each time I get a mortgage statement on it has his name on it too - even though he hasn't paid a penny towards it... I want to move on with my life, but I feel like he is still there clinging to me. I would like my mum not to have cancer, and I would like her to find a man who loved her despite her illness so that her faith could be restored before she passes.

I am taking up new hobbies - like climbing and meeting new people that are becoming my friends. I have stopped dating as this was dragging me down, in fact I have stopped trying to meet a man at all - my life is better and I am happier without a relationship... if my Mr Right is out there I'm not going to look anymore - its time he did the work! I guess that I'm trying to keep busy really and to live life - because you never know when its going to end.

mhm...

I generally don't consider to much of my possesions. However there has been one possesion in my life that I feel has given me quite a bit of joy, though I concede that it is the concepts represented by those objects rather then the objects themselves that I enjoy...

Firstly my Corvette until I recentally smashed it meant a lot to me. After wrecking it I was rather devestated but since then I have bee nworking on fixing it up myself and it means probably more to me then it used to. The truth is that the car represents the work I put into making something.

As to the second question. No I wouldn't like to inject the feeling of newness into something. With time comes great comfort and while I concede my relationship with my girlfriend was incredible at the beginning now it has deepened to something far greater indeed.
