I wanted to say good luck to all the competitors. I will not be voting in this competition because "Mystertikal's" entry is personal and I don't think it's fair to everyone if I vote. Ok I want to say that I think all the entries are very, very good... You guys/gals did a wonderful job.. the poll is for one vote per member "No multiple votes" She-ra I took the poem you said was your submission "Hope it's the one you wanted?" Since it's the weekend I am giving the members till "Tuesday" to cast their vote then the voting will close and the winner will be selected. We will be starting a new competition on Tuesday...Look for it! You guys are gonna have a better time writing with the theme chosen. I've included all the entries for the members to read so that you don't have to go back and forth. NOW VOTE! Edited by Mystical, Feb 21 2009, 11:57 AM.

1st entry by Imago Purple, Grey, Blue August, July, June Waiting For September Holding out for the end. Winter, sometimes it feels like a dream Huddled deep within my covers Hiding from the cold outside Ice, Wind, Sleet, Snow. Hot Chocolate Marshmallows melting within Warming, Comforting Drunk beside an open fire. Rain, Rain, Pitter Patter on the roof Crunch, Crunch Snow beneath booted feet. Spring begins, Snow Melts Flowers Bloom Nature Awakes. 2nd entry DONTEATUS The Winters Hold * * To See the wonders of the Snow fall at nite,is a majestic site.To listen to each flake though pass your ear is to behold something close and very dear. * * The times in our Lifes seem to come and go But memorys like this all Mankind must know. A child at heart we all can feel.Just moments away thses are the times we must steal. * * So never think that winters Hold is too long, for its really too soon all Gone! 3rd entry Ryan "Winter Oak" ¹High above the ethereal tombs... The moon riddles my tune And winds fiddle dead branches. As eulogies enslave the nightwish, There are cycles breathing in the soil. ²Beside the mangled catacombs... There are shadows of an olden oak Cracking the midnight stroke. And that aura I shall never forget, It lit frozen leaves tenderly. ³Below the havenless graves... Shrooms and worms route their escape Through blackened determinations Just to watch the spiral destination By the one last leaf of the Winter Oak. 12-12-07 4th entry Mystical Winters Wrath Winter is upon us the ice stings harsh and cold on this older body I feel brittle, I feel old. Too be a youth and know the truth of what the snow can bring I dream of happy days, when I was young of sledding, snow, and fun. The cold seeps deep into me as every step I take seeking the warmth out of the cold of another winter day The snow and sleet beat upon the ground a never ending drum as my face, my hands, and my feet continue to get numb Winter will be over soon I keep telling it to myself I'll wait for Spring and the blossoms it brings I'm waiting for the sun. 2-19-09 Not my best but I'm really not a Winter kind of person! 5th entry Yvonne winter time when winter is here i shed a tear it reminds me of you when our love was new when winter is here i shed a tear i can feel your lips brushing my skin, gosh i miss when winter is here i shed a tear i lay awake on my bed thinking of you it hurts my heart bled but next winter, there'll be no more tears i will now keep my promise to move on after all these years i've mourned enough and now it's time to love someone with our memories in my heart and mind. 6th entry She-ra A Journey in Winter By: She-ra/Jody Flames flicker shadows cast upon her face Feiry green eyes illuminate soft lips and silky smooth skin dressed in lace Chills like marching men trample down her spine Only six more weeks of winter and three nights to the borderline Fairies dance in trees trimmed with glittering ice the gentle fair maid, armed with only one blanket must sacrifice For the good of all mankind for the one she loves she will weather the cold and the wind that whispers on the flight of white doves She is invisibly loyal hiding true intentions, her chilled heart plundering onwards towards outtermost otherwordly dimensions Centaurus leads by darkness of night to reach her final destination she must not be weary, must hold it in sight The rewards given to the strong of heart she must reflect and remember why this important journey she did start March onward to the snop-capped mountains where destiny awaits her good intentions and she can finally sip from the youthful fountain And then she can arise anew again in spring as plant's peak through the surface she does not know what tomorrow will bring 7th entry Mystertikal The Winter Of My Life My winter is long, progressively worse my feet heavy with snow I feel I am cursed. Through the barren trees walks a woman alone my burden she bears yet her sorrows not shown Her voice frozen silent for so many years twas soft, unflinching full of wisdom and tears. The snowflakes that fall from the storm up above shortened the flight of a familiar white dove. My best friend forever he's gone, I'm alone. Now he pushes the crocuses up through the snow. So long and so bitter, this season will be one more layer of warmth is taken from me. The ice forms on my chest it's harder to breath the man who walked with me I no longer see. Through the winter there's hope for an early Spring from the faithful eagle with tireless wings. Up the path she has made she shows me the way and the frost on my heart melts more everyday. This poem is about : The people who are no longer with me. My mother "the woman in the trees", My father "The man I no longer see" My brother "The White dove" The constant in my life: My wife "The Eagle" |
