I hope this is still open for aplicants

Hurt

She ran, ran though the trees
Her cries echoed, echoed out
Blood on her arms, her hands
But her child still cries

Who'd know the she'd forgive
Forgive the man who hurts
Each day he would greet her
A hug then the pain

He’d hurt her, then kiss her
He would say ‘I love you’
He’ll leave her to cook
To look after her child

She’d cradle her child and sing
Sing the lullaby her mother sang
Dorme il mio bambino, sunono di sonno
Per il sole di domain aumenterà

The hurt mother, holding her child
The tears continue to fall
But no one hears her soft crying
Not even the man who calls her ‘wife’

Then one day the tears stopped
The soft cries drowned to silence
The child cries for its mother
While standing over a grave
