The Humane Society of the United States is now offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible. “Those who abuse animals can be dangerous to people,” said Holly Tarry, The HSUS’ Colorado state director. “Americans have no tolerance for violence against the creatures who share our world.” According tot he Humane Society, the connection between animal cruelty and human violence is well documented. Studies show a correlation between animal cruelty and all manner of other crimes, from narcotics and firearms violations to battery and sexual assault. If you have information on these cases, contact the Las Animas County Sheriff's Office at 719-846-2211. Source
